Water water EVERYWHERE

This is the 3rd time AS has been hit by flood and each time,it has gotten worst. The first was in 1988 and then 2005.I wasn't in AS to experience the flood in 1988.

But i did in year 2005.I remembered monitoring the water level in the drain with family and friends. Then,we would cycle or walk around the taman to check on people's houses. At night, when the electricity was gone,we stayed upstairs for the first night and the second night at a friend's place. After the flood was gone, because my house wasn't affected,we went to people's house to clean. It was a nice feeling to be able to help those who needed it.

Five years after that, year 2010,flood hit AS again. This time,it is worse than in year 2005.We didn't expect the water to enter the house but it did. When i woke up in the morning,my whole garden was covered with brown water. That really panicked me cos everything was still on the ground, nothing was raised. My dogs were walking nonstop in the water and half wet while my tortoise could not be seen anywhere. In a few hours,we lifted everything to higher places, brought my dogs to another place and left home to Lunas. It was nonstop traveling to and fro everyday since Thursday to check on the condition of the house and also my dogs.

This flood has taught me a few things. It is to stay calm and focused when everything is going out of control.Scan the area and see what needs to be done,do it systematically and don't panic.Saying 'I don't know' during times like this won't help.It is better to move and get things done, then to stare at things and cry.Things won't be done and also time is just being wasted.Don't keep expecting people to help you.Inform others that you need help and then get to the things yourself instead of waiting.Your friends will eventually come when they are done with theirs and by then, you would have done some of the things too.

Only yesterday i could finally online and post up photos to my Facebook and also blog about the flood. Now that everything is returning back to quite normal,i can continue focusing on preparing for my exams.I didn't study AT ALL since Thursday so i am now very,VERY OUT OF TIME.I have to re-plan my schedule and see how to fit everything that i am suppose to do into less amount of time.Got to get study now.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY,
MUMMY

Thought it through

It is better that i concentrate on my exams for now. There are SO MANY thing that i am still uncertain and do not know. Why waste my time on something that is irrelevant and out of my control?

I should appreciate what i have right now and not compare it with what i had before. Not everything will be the same, but that doesn't mean that it is not good, right?

I have 33 more days before my exams.I don't want to either suffer the next semester or prolong my studies anymore.
Therefore, got to buckle up,switch the engine from the current relax mode to the 'crazy, speed up,stressful,no fun, torture, panic' mode....and GO!!

I miss

It is funny how we are always not content with what we have.
We always either want something new and better,
Or want what we used to have.
Why can't we be happy with whatever it is now?
Why do we have to think so much?

Some things that aren't meant to be ours,
we should let it go.

How time flies

It was like yesterday when i was still young, running around in my grandparent's home, waiting for my cousins to arrive and play..and now,one of my cousins who is from the same 'group' as i am has gotten married. My cousins are divided into three groups...the 30s',the 20' and those younger than 20s' (currently). This cousin who got married is the eldest in the 20s' group.

Exam period

Exam season is back!Stress level is high, moody days increases..

This semester is a little more stressful than before because the clever me decided to self study for one paper (P3 - Business Analysis).I thought since it is a theory paper,i should be able to handle it.In the end,i still registered for the exam but i haven't even finished ONE round of the study text.Ya,that means my first time studying it and actually getting to know what this paper is all about is TWO MONTHS from the exam.So smart of me right,to think that i will be that hardworking and discipline enough to study by myself.

The other paper i am taking is P2,Corporate Reporting. That paper is a continuation of the previous F7 paper.Because i took that a year ago, there are many things that i have forgotten. So,spent most of the time in my lectures trying to recall what i studied before.By the time i remember, the lecturer is already done with lecture for the new parts.Never ending chase for me...

Therefore, you can imagine..how stressful it is for me right now.TWO papers which i have ZERO confidence and the fees for a paper is around RM400.

So...what i do to cope with the stress?I go for a HAIRCUT..which is exactly what i just did.You might think that it is silly and a waste of time, but to me,it is a good way to release the stress, refresh and regain the energy and motivation.

I am so stressed till i went for a haircut.
Cut off stress?

Today's haircut was GOOD..Initially didn't want to waste time for a wash but then the lady somehow just did it..and i have no regrets. The massage was so nice that before i knew it,she was done.Usually i will be wondering why is it taking so long (which i should be since i did not plan on spending so much time there),but i didn't this time. The cut turned out really well too though it was a little shorter than what i expected. And,i am so going to get THAT hair product (Soft N' Straight) after finishing what i have at home.Loving the results of it =)

See how a short trip to the salon can help reduce stress?

Enough of blogging for now.Got to get back to my books.Hope i survive this exam and don't fail.

Great Pyrenees

I AM SO IN LOVE WITH THIS DOG!!!

During my trip to Korea, saw this HUGE dog when we stopped at a restaurant for breakfast. From far,it already looks big so you can imagine when we got near. The biggest dog i have seen is a St. Bernard and this is way bigger than that. For a dog that size, one would think that it will be inactive and slow but it turned out the total opposite. It started getting excited when we went nearer and running around its enclosure.

I wish to have one as my pet in the future.Unfortunately,it is not available in Malaysia.Guess i will have to import it which also means more $$$ is needed.Got to save up for this =)

New relationship

Don’t be afraid of a New Relationship

Liken it to boarding a new Ship

Exciting, new things to enjoy and explore

Two walking together through a new open door.

Don’t shy away from a New Relationship

The pain of the past needn’t make you quit

In life, sometimes we get it wrong

At other times, we find a bond so strong.

Don’t run away from a New Relationship

Hold on tight, don’t lose a grip

Let go of the past and move on

Bask in the presence of your new Loved one.

Don’t give up on a New Relationship

Invest, time, love and Romance in it

So you did it before, your partner didn’t care?

This is a New one, don’t be biased, be fair.

I was once afraid of a New Relationship

Couldn’t get myself to relax one bit

Waiting for something to go wrong any minute

And then I could justify leaving it.

So, I plead, stay in your New Relationship

Give it a chance to bloom, don’t quit

Love, trust and support your Other Half

Step by step, may life lead you to Love’s blissful path.

I was surfing the net and found this in HubPages.Thought that it is something nice to share with everyone. But i think this is especially meaning to those who are uncertain and afraid of starting a new relationship after having to go through some rough ones in the past.

To Korea

Just came back from Korea. We were suppose to go Shanghai for the Expo but ended up going to Korea instead.I am so exhausted but it was nice to experience what life is like there.

It was a 6 days 5nights tour,Wednesday until Monday. There were 24 of us consisting of 6 families. We departed by bus to Penang International Airport and then by Cathay Pacific Airlines to Hong Kong and finally Incheon. The total flight duration was approximately 6 hours.Weather in Korea was not as cold as i thought it would be and it was raining for almost 4 days.Luckily on the day where we were suppose to shop on the market,it was sunny for awhile.

Food in Korea is just okay. They are more towards the healthy eating lifestyle. Most of the food are prepared naturally, without much seasoning. We had steamboat, barbecue, something like fried 'kueh-kak' (for me,that was horrible,i didn't like the taste of the chilli paste) and Chinese food on the last night. The food that i enjoyed the most was the Korean BBQ.That was really nice cos it was the first time i ate so much meat and didn't feel 'geli'.The famous kimchi...only had it on the first two days though it was served at every meal for five days. After the second day,my tummy can no longer tolerate it.So,you can guess what was the first thing we did after reaching Malaysia...straight to have CURRY MEE.

Hotels in Korea have doors opening..(in or out)..um..the opposite from Malaysia.Instead of pushing the door open after unlocking it,we had to pull it.So,have to be careful when walking along the corridors. There is only one hotel which i enjoyed staying the most. That is the Daemyung Resort. We got to experience what we usually see in the Korean dramas. There was no bed, only mattress and the pillow is rectangular and hard.It was fun but uncomfortable.Because the tour booked the suite,we had a kitchen equipped with stove, pots and pans, plate, bowl and cups and a living room in the room.We cooked Malaysian instant noodles, drank Milo, ate snacks and the older adults drank beer bought from a store at the hotel.Had a great time that night.

Tour guide told us that people in Korea buy cars usually in only three colours.Either black, grey or white. They were basic colours and i felt that in Malaysia we have quite a lot of cars with those colours too.One night, when we were crawling in a jam,i started realising that, yes in Malaysia there are many, but in Korea almost ALL the cars are those colours.I can say the majority is around 90%.I tried to spot for cars with other colours and it was after some time that i saw a red car.It is amazing but boring at the same time to pass by cars after cars looking the same as the other.

I am too lazy to describe the places that we visited so shall just list them.

  • National Folklore Museum
  • Gyeongbokgung Palace
  • Nami Island
  • Lavender Garden or Herb Nara
  • Mt. Seorak National Park
  • Wawoo Jongsa Temple
  • Yeoju Premium Outlet
  • Everland
  • Korea Ginseng Monopoly Showroom
  • Myongdong and Namdeamum market
  • Cheongwadae Sarangchae Exhibition Museum
  • Kwun Kun Seong Fortress
  • Shinheungsa Temple
  • Unity of Large Buddha
Korea is so famous for its kimchi that we were brought to the place where they made it and got first hand experience on how to do it ourselves.Everything was prepared for us,we just had to spread the chilli paste. After that,we got to take photos in the tradition Korean costumes. Not everyone did that, only a few of us.Everyone said granny looked the nicest, cutest and the most similar to a Korean than all of us.

Heard of the Nanta Show?It is a musical show using knives and other kitchen utensils. We were late 10 minutes for the show but we still had a great time and good laugh.
The synopsis
An excellent cook, but the unmanly HEAD CHEF,a very sexy, masculine SEXY GUY,and the powerful, sassy, only woman cook,HOT SAUCE!The three attractive, characteristic chefs start their day.Washing vegetable, carrying meat loafs and setting fire, cooks at NANTA kitchen is about to begin their busy job as always, then the ill-natured manager orders them to prepare 10 wedding ceremony menus, along with his little nephew in just an hour.Suddenly the kitchen is thrown into turmoil and the cooks become wild as they chop, beat and stir in an attempt to meet the deadline. The wedding ceremony is at 6 o'clock and it is at hand! Will the NANTA cooks complete the preparation on time?
A brief entry about my Korea trip.Photos...i took around 400 photos but will have to filter through before i can upload them. Will try to do it after i am back from Langkawi.
