Only two students showed up for dance class today..the uncle (aka my partner) and me.So,my $$ is worth cos i had the sir to teach ME,ME,ME...

Because i MIGHT be going for the dinner and dance,so the uncle asked the sir (without my knowledge) to teach us a few patterns so that we can dance on that night.The steps were not that okay,just getting the right posture and hip work was TOUGH.I had to stand straight,pull my body up (as though i am a puppet and there is a string attached to my head..had to PULL that string up).The sir did a lot of pushing and pulling to ensure i get it and i told him i think i am going to break my back if he does it a little more.That was really difficult.Then,the hip work.We had to go the side walk and 'kukaracha' (that's how it is pronounce but i am not sure if that is how it is being spelled).I always thought that turning the hip in the figure 8 was just like how we write it on a piece of paper,2 dimension.But,the sir said..it has FOUR DIMENSION.How can there be 4 dimension?So,he explained and i got it in theory.Doing it...still need a lot of practice.

So...these are the things i learnt today.I need to remember and keep doing it so that i will be ready for the party if i do go.

Though yesterday and today are about dancing but the fun i get out of them is different.That's why i like them both and don't mind paying.Sacrificing new clothes for this..but it's worth it =)

Today's class

Today's dancing class was F-U-N!

I can now dance the square rhumba,but that is only with good leading.And..i can dance the cha cha and the cuban rhumba..

What is so fun tonight is that i learnt the SALSA.I like it a lot and hoping to learn more steps and get the feel of it.Then only the dance will look nice..right?

Do you all think i should go for the dinner and dance on the 20th of August?

Birthday =)

This year's birthday was F-U-N..from the start of 25th until the end..00.00am-11.59pm.

At the VERY start of my day,i was with Ning,hanging out at Gemilang burger and then to KFC until 2.30am.It was something i rarely do so you can imagine how excited i was to be out with her till so late.And she was so cute..looking at her hp and waiting till 00.00am sharp to wish me.

Then,came home and returned a friend's call.Because i had free call for the day,we were talking until 3.30am.Did a lot of catching up...

After that..i was totally knocked out because that morning i travelled to Penang to sit for my exam and then came back after that.So,all the walking,chasing after the ferry and perah-ing the brain...was SO TIRED.

Morning..woke up early as i promised the an uncle that i will arrange dance practice.Was at A.Molly's house at 11am until 12.30pm to dance..taught them and also learnt a few things from the uncle.He is good for someone his age.

Dancing was really exhausting that after lunch,i was off to dreamland.Was enjoying my sleep until mum woke me up to go shopping.I was so reluctant but i did go in the end.Mum bought a dress for me.. =) Thank you!

At night..had 8-coursed dinner.Food was awesome,really delicious..Ate till i was so FULL.Thanks,Pa and thanks,Mi for the dinner.

My birthday cake was made by my sis..(Thanks,sis.I will try my best to bake a NICE cake for you birthday)

To end my day..went out with A.Molly,sis and a friend to listen to songs and have drinks.

Siamese rhumba?

Today,i learnt a new dance..Siamese rhumba.I haven't heard of it ever in my life until just now.The dance is like.....rocking,have move front,back,front.There are 5 variations,symbolises the 5 petals on a flower.I learnt 3 but can only remember 2 cos i had to remember the steps for other dances (square rhumba and cha cha) as well.By the end of the lesson,i just 'pakai hentam' my steps.Don't know which is which and where to turn.When the sir changed to cha cha,i was still dancing the Siamese rhumba and he had a good laugh cos i must have looked so silly.It was another fun and interesting lesson... =D

Durian outing

Durian season!

My parents LOVE durian.They go durian hunting when they are free,find which stall sells the best durian and also the cheapest.

On Friday,they decided to go to one of their favourite stall to eat durians.Used to buy back and eat but then the trouble of throwing the rubbish away after eating.

This stall is located opposite 'Uncle John'.The man sells it under a big,shady tree.It is windy and nice there.

The durians there come is so many sizes..

And we went all prepared,water to wash hands and wet tissue.

Durians are known to be heaty.So,to reduce the heat,headed for the coconut stall not far way (Coconuts are known to be cooling.Good counter for the durians)

Birthday at court

This year,i started to join mum's group for badminton.And recently,they decided to celebrate the birthdays of all the members.

So...i have my early birthday celebration today with two other people.There are suppose to be five of us but only three turned up.

SImple but everyone enjoyed themselves.Good way to keep people together and get to know each other better..right?

Today

In the morning..i had badminton.Was very reluctant to go cos i was so sleepy.But,i did go in the end.It was fun learning new things and improving but definitely tiring.

Then,it was fetching bro from school,resting awhile before fetching him to tuition.Wanted to catch a quick nap but there wasn't any time.Don't know what i was doing in between.

After that,it was D-A-N-C-E.Beginning it was boring,learning the basics AGAIN.So,most of the time,i was looking at others doing it.When the sir was correcting them,i observed and corrected myself cos i am still not perfect.Then,my friend (an eighty something year old man) came.He was dancing with me yesterday.At first,he stood at another end,dancing by himself.After some time (think he was kind of bored cos he knows the basics too),he came over and asked me to dance with him.So,it was REAL FUN after that.We were talking and dancing and trying to perfect the 'connection' thing (we finally got it but sometimes 'connection' will still sesat).So,that's what i learnt in today's dance class..the basics and the 'connection'.

FUN FUN

Fun day..and it has NOTHING to do with my class or travelling back home by bus.

Remember my previous posts where i was complaining there was no dance class for me.Now..i have TWO classes to go to =D

Why am i going for two?Well,i am still learning from the same instructor as i did last time.He is very good in techniques so that is where i learn how to dance so that it looks nice.Then the other instructor is where i learn all the different variations so that IF i ever go for parties or dinners then i can dance with people.

Tonight is the variation class..I learnt the square rhumba and the cha cha.It is so fun to be learning something different from what i did and to be able to dance with anyone who can lead.The not fun parts..when i was doing the wrong move,forgetting my next move,feeling dizzy from being turned round and round (that was really bad).Besides that,i totally enjoyed myself.

Tomorrow..another dance class.Can't wait for that.Hopefully he teaches something new besides the basic *keeping fingers crossed*..

Finally...

Finally..started my dance class again.SO,SO HAPPY when i found out there is a class which can fit into my schedule.

After so long of not dancing,it took some getting used to.I could not keep my balance on the heels when i had to stand in a line.My legs were aching so badly because of the heels and way to move them.Also i was sweating and sweating even with the aircon on cos my body suddenly had to work extra hard,the muscles have to stretch and stretch.

Tiring but very satisfying =D HAPPY HAPPY

I am now learning the rhumba.So glad that my instuctor is teaching that this time instead of cha cha.After this,i think i want to learn the salsa and the samba.Jive...i will be the last cos tried that before and it was SO DIFFICULT to get the hopping right.

Michael Jackson (1958-2009)

I know that MJ's memorial is today and it would be aired live..but i didn't know that i could watch it online until my friend told me.

So there i was,sitting in front of my laptop with my sister since 1am watching the memorial live.CNN really did a really great job.Initially there was a little audio problem but after that it was all smooth and clear.

The memorial was exactly how it should be for someone who is so great.The songs sang were so beautiful especially from the ones by Lionel Richie and Usher.The words from those who were close to him were so touching.It brought tears to my eyes when his little girl told everyone how great he is as a dad and how much she loves him.

MJ has done so many good things for the world.The biggest was being the best entertainer of all time.He sang,he danced,he popped and he entertained.It did not matter whether they were white or black.His kindness and care touched many lifes while his love brought the world together.It is so amazing how one person can do all that..I really salute him.

There was a part during the memorial where they performed the song 'Heal the world'.It brought back fond memories of my school days.I was in the choir and one of the songs that we sang was 'Heal the world'.We had such great fun practising with our teacher and then performing it in front of the Raja Muda and Raja Puan Muda.If it wasn't for MJ,there will not be that song and without that song,there will not be that memory.Thank you so much!

How much the world appreciates what he did,
How much people respect him,
How much the world loves him..

If only they have shown it earlier and did not wait till now,
if only he is alive to hear and witness all these..

First day of class

I think i was worried that i won't be able to wake up...keep waking up in the middle of the night to see what is the time.After realising it is still early,back to dreamland..

Class was surprisingly okay.The lecturers are not bad,better than my previous lecturers i think.The textbooks have already arrived,just that i forgot to bring my receipt so can't get them until next week.Everything is so smooth UNTIL i have to pay attention to what the lecturers were saying.

Gosh...Two months of not attending class and my brain and ears are so rusty.I was trying so hard to catch what they were saying.Words just enter in the right ear and out the left ear.Really that bad.And i already have homework on the first day..

So..i better go and finish my homework now before i get too lazy.Need to pass it up tomorrow or else she won't accept it.

Penang...

Today is my LAST day of holiday =( Going back to Penang and tomorrow classes are starting.I have mix feelings about starting the semester.

I am not eager to start class cos it means that i will have to wait until the end of the year to have another holiday.There will be breaks in between but it is not the same as the one you get once you are done with the exams.

On the other hand,I am looking forward so that i start being organised in my studies,stay focused and try out the new approach to tackling the exams (Thanks Kat for the tips.Gonna apply it early so that i can pass my papers in one sitting).I want to be prepared for this semester's papers from the beginning so that when the exams come,i don't have to burn the midnight oil.This is my GOAL for this semester.

But that doesn't mean i will be studying 24/7.I want to have the time to enjoy myself too.Planning to hang out with my cousin and friends when i am in Penang and then when back in AS,go for my dance lessons and play badminton.That way,i will have a balance of everything.

Easy to say,hopefully it is that easy to put them into action too.Wish me luck....

Little girl

Little girl from the nursery...

When she came to the nursery she was only a year old..using her milk bottle,baby talk and wants people to carry..

Now,she is 2 years old..She talks a lot but that is after i was there for a few times.The first few times,don't think she remembers who i am so she was shy,very shy.But,the more times i was there,the closer she came to me (when i was playing with the other kids) and FINALLY..one day,she started talking to me and since then,it is nonstop.Every time i am there she will hold my finger and make me follow her and sometimes i am not allowed to go back home.

She is one little girl who loves to look pretty (her sister is the total opposite).What i wear is or how i look is usually not nice according to her.The only thing that is nice is what she is wearing,how she ties her hair and also..how she ties my hair.Yap,she CAN tie my hair but it hurts A LOT.I will be 'ouch-ing' the whole time.Don't know how those little fingers of hers can hold SO tightly and tie them.

The photo below is of me with my hair done by this little girl without anyone's help.She did it all by herself.That pink scrunchy is not mine.She took it out from her hair and used it on me cos i did not have any with me.For a 2 year old,it is not bad,right?And she says i look nice like that (the ONLY time she says i look nice).


Another thing that she LOVES doing is taking photos..She will ask for my hp if i happen to take it out.This photo was taken by her..
