My pets

I love having pets.I don't mind the looking after but i just cannot take it when they die.So if i have someone who is willing to dispose or bury them after they die..then i can happily have pets at home.

These are my hamsters. The one in the wheel is nicknamed Ah Pui because it means fat and it is big and fat.I had him for almost a year and the half. The other one is nicknamed Monkey cause when the first few times when we wanted to catch it,it keeps on jumping around. This one is new.Just got it recently because the other one i had died.

These are my fishes.I have them in my room and also outside. The ones in my room are divided into three. The tank, the babies (in the round container) and the ones which in between babies and adult (in the rectangle container).I keep the babies away from the rest cause i am trying to get them to grow bigger before releasing them outside.Outside the babies always end up dead or very skinny. So make them healthier before going into the REAL world =) The in-betweens are suppose to go into the tank in my room but i have a few fishes which are very aggressive. So afraid that they might attack them.

Then there is my loyal dog...Brownie.You see the part of the door that has lost its coat of paint? That is his job.He scratch it everytime he wants to get into the house.

Last but not least,my tortoise,Miko, which i nearly went over when i was driving my brother for tuition. He has also learnt the art of scratching the door from my dog.And that is his favourite place to relax,in my living room.

Pet shops in A.Star

Yesterday, after sending my brother to school for drama practise,my sister and i decided to go to the pet shop to get some fish..There were three pet shops in a row at opposite Union Bookstore. So,great place to hang out before going to fetch my brother an hour later.

The first shop...Tropicana.The shops looks the oldest among these three but the fishes are cheaper. The maintenance there is not that good and the place is a little cramp.So..for those like me...like to visit pet shop but a little afraid cause the moment you turn and the animal is like there in your face...then you should visit the second shop.

The second shop...i don't remember what is the name of the shop but i know it sells badminton stuff as well. This place is cleaner and more spacious..Because of that, there are less animals.I enjoy going to this shop cause though the fishes are a little more expensive than the first shop, the place looks like it is better maintained. But the hamsters are cheap..I tried bargaining and could get a pair for RM15.

The third shop...E-World.This shop is big but i don't like it.The fishes are so poorly looked after. In a tank that is like less than a feet wide, there was...maybe more than 30 fishes all packed like sardine. The shop has a wide variety of fishes but then the place is cramp. So for people who has phobia like me,you won't like it.Another not that good point about this shop is that the hamsters are SO EXPENSIVE...For ONE ham ham,the cheapest is...RM10.50 and it can go up until RM18.00 if i am not mistaken.IMAGINE...

So,of all the shops,i prefer to go to the second shop.

Miley Cyrus - I miss you

This song is very nice and touching.

It also reminds me of my own grandfather who passed away in 2007 and how much i missed him.....

The start of studying again

Letter arrived...which also means my holidays are coming to an end......

Back to studying cause my college is starting.....NEXT WEEK.At least my college will be nearer compared to the university i went before. And i will be staying with my relatives. So it is not going to be THAT bad.

But,after more than 6 months of not studying....going back to books is not easy especially when you have to make sure the things that are studied goes into the head. That is tough,tough,tough....And the exams period AND all the stuffing-into-the-head-as-much-as-possible...

Until the brain feels like this.........

Got to enjoy myself now..especially enjoy having my brain free from the jams.....

No more working in nursery

Last Thursday...I stopped working at the nursery. The reason was because most of my friends are back and i need to spend some time with them before they start studying.

The time spent with friends are getting lesser and lesser by the year. Not long,we will all be working and will be TOO busy to hang out. That's why we have to grab the opportunity when there is.

As always, before we,the temporary helpers will get the kids and teachers something. This year we decided to get the kids TOYS and it was not an easy task.Spent almost the whole evening choosing them..have to suit their age, whether they are able to play, girl and boy, whether its too violent and all that stuff...

As for the teachers...that week..so happened a teacher said she hasn't tasted Secret Recipe cake..so we decided to get them all a slice. And we put a little excitement in there by buying all different flavours and seal them up.So,they won't know what it is until they open it to eat.

So,now i am at home missing the kids even though some of them maybe naughty and cheeky...

Fishing with friends

Yesterday,LA called and asked me out to fish with her and Sally.I was quite reluctant at first..has been a long week and Thursday is the day i prefer to sit at home and relax..but then the temptation of hanging it out with friends was so great that i decided to go with them.

LA drove all the way into the paddy field and parked her car right next to the river where we fished. We could have just walked in and save on the petrol. But then...girls....what to do.

The first half and hour or so...just sat there and chat.No luck...so no fish. Then Sally arrived with her friend.

After an hour...we finally got a fish..a small one.Won't be enough for one...what more four of us.Decided to release it.There were none after that.We just chat and took photos and...enjoy the fresh air..umm...not really fresh for three moments thanks to LA.

Around 7pm we decided to pack and go home. The fishing outing was quite nice.Would be better if there were more fish.

The 'kepos'

I went back to Lunas yesterday because had to help out with the prayers today. One of the things that we had to do was 'chang'.

'Chang'...glutenous rice + pieces of seasoned pork + 'lak chi' + mushroom + salted egg yolk + dried prawns...all wrapped in a type of leave. There are two types of 'chang'...salty..sweet and salty.I think most people prefer the salty ones but as for me...the sweet and salty is the best.

'Kepos' means busybodies...

My uncle helps to catch thieves in the area.He is not a policeman.Something like RELA.So,especially at night,he walks around with a walkie-talkie at home.Whenever the phone rings and there are robbery anywhere around,he will contact those people who are also involve to the scene.Yesterday night,he received a call and after contacting the people,he went out on his bike.My aunt who is his wife, heard the call, told my mum about it and decided they wanted to go and have a look.My sister asked if i wanted to go...and do you think i would want to miss the fun and adventure? So,there went the four 'kepos'.Usually we know about the calls and would ask if we can follow but he will never let us.This time we kept it a secret.

When we reach the place, there were many people outside the house. Some of them were behind the house and some in front..each holding a stick and torchlight. We stopped on the opposite lane so that my uncle will not spot us.Then came the police. They went into the house and came out after a short while with nothing. So we guessed that the robber had ran off.True enough because we could see people checking the area from the roof and there was no one.

Disappointment....We went home after that. When my uncle came home,we asked him about it and he didn't believe that we were there until we could describe the scene. He said that the robber had gone off and that everything precious in the house was gone. So,the owner can only report it to the police.

It was quite an experience watching it...and would have been better if the rober was caught. But then...what to do.Next time, next time...

Catching fish

The 'fishing bug' bit me and so.....

For two days i was out with sister and family friend to catch fish.Well,it is not really the FISHING as in...out in the sea or river...ours was in a smaller place...the LONGKANG (drain) on the first day and sort of a swamp the next day.

We use a net and a pail.Scoop and splash the dirty water around...and got around 15 fishes the first time...20 the second day.Not that bad right?

The fishes that we caught on the first day are darker in colour but some had colour on their tails. So they were quite pretty. Those on the second day were lighter and their eyes sort of can glow..The bigger ones that we WERE suppose to catch had a spot on their head that glows. We couldn't catch those unless we jump into the water.But...no thanks...afraid that there might be....hiss hiss......

So that is another interesting thing i did....

My first taste

Had my first taste of century egg yesterday....

Well...

I have learnt to try NEW things no matter what..only then is there some FUN...though sometimes i may regret after doing them.

Yesterday was my papa's birthday..after blowing out the candles and finishing the cake, family friend and us decided to go out for supper.Went to this place..Always go there but don't know what is it called...We usually refer to it as the 'lower than the road' place to makan. What is famous there is the KC noodles.

Because i haven't tasted century egg...eveer in my life...have seen them so often but never cross my mind to try cause it is black in colour...so yesterday, this family friend ordered an egg especially for my sister and me to try.

I took the quarter and pop it into my mouth (trying to be 'sporting').The taste of the egg white which is black and jelly like was....like eating jelly but no taste. That was still bearable. Then bit into the yolk.It was greenish black and sticky. The taste of it...wasn't something that i LOVE or LIKE and it was there the whole entire night. The sticky-ness and the smell.....really not pleasant especially when i have to wait for another hour or so before i can get home to brush my teeth.

Will i eat it again?

I will TRY to LIKE it....Needs some time to get use to it.

At least this hoilday i tried something new.No regrets....
