'Mee Khau' (That's what it was called when i was young) Lately, there seemed to be another name for it...'Pan Mee'.This has been my favourite since i was young.Love it for its simplicity.Though it is simple...somehow i didn't really get into cooking it myself until lately. That also because i had no choice.
So,that's how i can write down the recipe today.
Dough
-3 cups of flour
-3/4 cup of water and egg
-3 tablespoons of oil
Soup
-Fish bones
-'mengkuang'
-Ginger
'Mani chai'
Mushroom
Carrot
Mix all the ingredients to make the dough.Boil water with all the ingredients for the soup.Fry the 'mani chai',mushroom and carrot until cooked. When the soup is done, add the fried vege and mushroom.Tear the dough THINLY into the boiling soup.Serve it with fried 'ikan bilis',fried garlic...and not to forget the cili padi.
YUMMY.....

Have you ever had the dry version of 'Pan Mee', like this:
http://kyspeaks.com/2006/06/27/ky-eats-kin-kin-chili-pan-mee-%E5%BB%BA%E8%A8%98%E8%BE%A3%E6%A4%92%E6%9D%BF%E9%BA%B5/
I want to make this version but not sure abuot all the ingridients, i guess the chili paste is their own special recipe..
I have tried the dry version which has black sauce, not the one like that.
Ya,think it is chili paste that makes it different.
Sorry..can't help you out with the recipe.
