15th day of CNY

Today is the 15th day of Chinese New Year..which is also the last day..People call it Chap Goh Meh.

A.Amelia,Alyssa, mummy, sis and me decided to go and have a look at people 'tim kam'..throw oranges. We thought that there will be many people at Pekan Cina cause from the name of the place you will also think that is where all the people should be.But,surprisingly no one was there. Then sis said her friend once told her to go to Ampang Jajar. So,there we went.

So true...There was a large crowd but mostly teens, fireworks going off every once in awhile, fire crackers popping everywhere, stalls selling food, drinks, shoes, more fireworks and fire crackers.I didn't manage to see anyone tim kam but i saw a few boys and girls writing on the oranges. What did they write?I don't know.

Why are there people throwing oranges in the river?

In olden days, girls that are still single will come out on this day to go to a river and throw oranges hoping that they will get a husband soon. The oranges that they throw must be the nicest and the prettiest and the MOST PERFECT one..because the orange symbolises the husband there are searching for. This is all i know..If i am wrong or left anything out, please correct or add by commenting..okay?
