CNY 2009

This year's CNY has been a little different from previous years.

CNY's eve
Had steamboat at grandma's house with relatives and family friend.They always come and join us on the eve.After dinner,online while waiting for midnight.When it was almost midnight,there were lots of firecrackers.We lighted our own firecrackers as well.After watching,we went to the temple.A few years back,it used to be the smokiest place at midnight.Everyone will bring their firecrackers and fireworks and light them there.It is really nice but now,it is not permitted anymore.

1st day of CNY

It will usually start with waking up late and having 'sweet soup' for breakfast.After that,will be waiting for relatives to arrive and then only quickly go and get changed into new clothes.Then,it will be having lunch and laksa.Grandma prepares the laksa only once a year.So,everyone will usually enjoy it,having two or three bowls.Once everyone is full and starting to get sleepy,the gambling will start.We do it to get everyone together (and also to earn more money) Gambling will usually last until dinner time.After dinner,usually we will sit around and chit chat.But this year,a cousin bought fireworks as in the one that bangs real loud in the sky with different patterns.So,we lined chairs outside for aunts and grandma to sit and watch.It was very nice as everyone got around and was so excited about it.Though fireworks are dangerous but without it,a festival will not be a festival.

2nd day of CNY

Went to Penang to maternal grandma's house.Had lunch,played guitar with my uncle and played with his pet birds.Was suppose to join my aunt's birthday party (father's sis) but then we were afraid that we will not make it in time for the dinner with maternal relatives.Dinner was kind of quick.I was so full after the 8 course meal.Went to aunt's house after dinner to follow another aunt back to Lunas.

3rd day of CNY

Woke up late as in 11 i think.Went and had banana leaf lunch with relatives and then cendol.After that...i think i was busy reading Twilight.At night,for supper,went to Nasmir and then fetched aunt back to Penang and stayed a night there.

4th day of CNY

Had breakfast with cousin at..........Subway.Then,was watching cousin,nephew and niece play 'wii'.After lunch,continued reading Twilight until it was almost time to go back Lunas with aunt.But we didn't head back straight away.Went to another aunt's place to have dinner and did a little gambling after dinner.

5th day of CNY

Woke up earlier this time because need to pack.Going go to back AS after a week.Left Lunas after lunch and went to Penang again.Shopped at Gurney and then went to another aunt's birthday dinner.After dinner,went to Lunas to get Chiko and our bags (Poppy did not come back with us because grandma wants her) and then headed back to AS.Reached home around 1am.

That was how i spent my CNY this year.The difference between previous years and this was that i travelled a lot.Usually,will only go to Penang once and then the rest in Lunas.
