Chinese Cultural Village

A friend told me about this event happening at Pekan Cina and said that it is very nice.I asked for photos of it before and refuse to send me one cause it seems i have to take a look myself. No extra information about it before.

So,reach home yesterday, played with pups (they have grown taller in just THREE days) then went to have dinner with family friend. And it was raining so everyone was questioning us on why must we go,it is not worth,it is the same like the CNY pasar malam and etc...But my sister and me insisted cause i was told that the decorations and everything was very nice.So..after insisting for so long, parents dropped us beside the masjid and we walked under the rain (with umbrella of course).

The place where we started was disappointing and the things that THEY said started to replay. There were stalls selling clothes and shoes like pasar malam.Only one stall was different..it was selling 'la mien'.Smells nice but i didn't try cause was in a hurry to see more.

As we were walking, the corner was suddenly so crowded. There were lots of people sitting, waiting and there was a stage in front with no one on it.So,i guess that the VIPs haven't arrived.

The street after that was a total change from the start. There were lanterns and red cloths and it was so beautiful.Tried to take photo but quite difficult cause everyone was moving.Anyway, managed to get these.

There were lots of tents some selling things while some are just to show but all are related to Chinese culture.
Modern origami..i think the planes can really fly and the dragon's body can move..Didn't dare to play with it too much.

Candies and fruits coated with syrup.

I don't know what are these called but they are made from plasticine. The man can make it pretty quick and it looked so easy.

There were lanterns on display. Some can even move...

Dragon beard candy? It is actually sugar strips stretched till they become very thin and look like beard.Peanuts are crushed then wrapped with this 'beard'.

Paintings and artwork for sale..

Display of self defense by the Shao Lin from Kedah..

I forgot what this charity body's name is...Tzu chi or something like that. They were selling coin box and books..I think it is more of donations.

A dance performed..I couldn't catch what this dance is about.Something about tea i guess..

Other stalls..

In China?

There is a river nearby so they had boats floating on it..the first one has people from Shao Lin performing. The second one..looks like a hut with something in it.I can't really see what it is.The third is the one with fireworks..

The thing that cannot be missed out from Chinese culture..the LION DANCE.

And finally, the main entrance to this event.I started the other way round =D

After walking through all,we went to the stage to see if there are any performances. The only dance i managed to see was the Peacock dance by a pair of twins. And also the VIPs sitting on the stage..

There was a talent competition..all sorts of dances, singing and calligraphy, guy who came out shirtless..And the winner from another contest held during CNY performing as the finale before the results were announced.I don't know what time it all ended because left after the final performance which was already 12.30am.

*No more photos during the performances because camera battery went flat.

How lovely the Chinese culture shows, dragon boat, red lanterns and calligraphy really reminds me the prosperous Chinese culture.
